This image was taken in Broadway in the Cotswolds. The elderly lady had sat down on a bench next to a bus stop obviously waiting for her lift home. As I watched her, she seemed to be miles away, neither recognizing or conversing with her fellow 'bench-sitters' or taking an interest in the scene around … Continue reading MMX: daydream →

I have sent off to Cewe all my images for the MMX book, and it has now been despatched . I'm really looking forward to see what kind of a job they've done on my photographs. Black and white is always difficult to reproduce and a lot of mine are tinted also but Cewe have … Continue reading MMX book now being printed. →

This picture was taken on my (at the time) new Olympus E-30 in Bourton-on-the-water, a place in the Cotswolds that's always been popular with bikers and pensioner coach parties alike. An incongruous mix, but they seem to get by and generally leave each other alone apart from some good natured name-calling in the tea-shops! I … Continue reading MMX: Bike and Reflection →

Taken on a lazy Sunday afternoon in Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds. I really like the instancy of this picture. The way people have been frozen in a moment of time. The lady looking at the photograph she has just taken, the boy on the right explaining something to his girl-friend and the couple on the … Continue reading MMX: Sunday Afternoon →

Taken at the Chesterton Windmill, I got the inspiration of this from the cover of the Judas Priest album 'Sin after Sin'. It was easy to do using two layers, the top layer converted to greyscale and the archway painted out to reveal the colour image underneath. The picture was taken using an Olympus E-620.

This is the pedestrian walkway in Leamington, from the car-park to The Parade. I was going to the bank and turned around as I reached the end of the corridor. I liked the soft light that came in through the windows and I happened to have my trusty old Nikon 4100 compact with me and … Continue reading MMX: Alone →

This was taken in the Lake District after one of the driest springs on record. The rocks you see in the image should be at least 45 centimetres under the surface of the river at the time this was taken in the middle of May. The sky was quite overcast and so I placed a … Continue reading MMX: Flow →

The picture was taken at Chesterton Windmill on a bright but blustery day in May. The viewpoint is from one of the paths that are cut through the field to enable people to reach the windmill without walking through the crops. The cloud formations that day were excellent, huge and billowing, moving quickly across the … Continue reading MMX Windmill and poppies →

Taken with an Olympus E-620 at Castlerigg stone circle in Cumbria. This location is always a favourite with tourists and photographers, so it pays to get there nice and early in the morning or late in the evening. We got there early in the morning and managed to grab a few shots before the hordes … Continue reading MMX: Stone Circle →
