Bradgate Park just north of Leicester is a great place for a walk and to take photographs. The three photographs this week were all taken there on a sunny April morning.

It was also an “auspicious” outing because I took my new Fujifilm X-T1 camera and a new lens the 18-135mm f/3.5 – 5.6. I had sold all my Nikon gear a week or so before, and had replaced it with a new Fuji camera and some lenses.

The X-T1 has now been superseded in the Fuji lineup by the X-T2 but it is still a great camera. I didn’t upgrade to the X-T2, instead, I kept the X-T1 and bought the X-Pro2 earlier this year which has now taken over as my number one camera.

Some Fuji users have felt that the 18-135mm lens is not good as they would have hoped, but I have found it excellent. Mine appears to be very sharp when stopped down with good contrast. It is a good size and ideal for a holiday lens with its 35mm equivalent focal length of 27mm to 202mm and doesn’t look too large on the camera. It also fits well in the much smaller camera bags that I now use. I will do a post on the bags I use for my Fuji’s in the near future.
Fabulous colour, sharpness and light. Lovely.

Thanks Carol. It was a lovely day and very quiet. Sitting on those rocks in image 2 having my lunch, with the sun and silence was almost spiritual. A super day.
