Inspired by the photographer, jazz guitarist, web designer and general all-round cool dude, Ted Viera, I decided I was going to make a photo zine. What is a zine? It is usually a small circulation, self-published magazine showing original artwork , prose or in my case black and white photographs.
Taking my lead from Ted, I used the Lightroom book module to make pdf’s showing ten or so of my monochrome images. Like him, I split the zine into issues and kept the whole thing nice and simple.
I’ve called the zine View, and you can download it free from A Sensored-View by following the menu link, “View – a Photozine” at the top of the page. It’s all pretty rough and ready, but I like that about it. To ensure I have time to get enough photographs processed for View each month, I’m actually doing the first twelve issues using images I captured in 2016. They will be loaded up at the end of each month, although the first six have already been placed on A Sensored-View.
Please have a look at View, let me know what you think and do pass them around o your friends, they’re free.
Finally, have a look at Ted’s videos on how he did his zine Emulsion below, and how you can do your own if you wish.
Great idea Clive and well executed. Appreciated the LR tutorial by Ted on how to do it too! Thanks!
