I have added two images to my portfolio this evening. The first is a collection of crab pots on the quay at Craster in Northumberland.
I really liked the shapes that the pots made as they lay piled up on the quay. I also tried to ensure that I retained the curved shapes of the ends of the pots. Despite the attractive arrangement that the pots make, they have been left exactly as the fishermen placed them after they had landed their catch. there is a sense of immediacy and connection with the composition.

The second addition was taken at Dudmaston Hall in Shropshire, of a very nice arched boathouse
It was the gothic-style arches and the contrast of the brickwork against the dark trees that attracted me to this shot. I think that there is an isolated, lonely feel to the image with the dark openings of the arches focussing the attention and drawing you in.
