I wanted to show something as being hollow, but also wanted to show that the ‘hollowness’ of the object had a purpose. In this case it was the hollow tube of a kitchen roll which is used to enable it to be unrolled easily when required, via a central spindle of some kind.
I focussed on the end of the tube where the spindle began from a stand, and let the sides and some of the interior of the tube become out of focus. This had two results: the first giving emphasis to the end of the tube and the second to give that illusion of distance and depth.

Loving this new genre of work for you. Great abstract which absolutely speaks to today’s word. Great execution. Speechless.
