Taken with an Olympus E-410 at 400 ISO in Lincoln cathedral. This was in one of the side chapels of the cathedral. It was very quiet and very peaceful with just that one ray of light from a high window breaking the gloom. The shadows were deepest in the corner by the pillar, but they got progressively less dense as they were opened by the shaft of light. The light itself was quite gentle, not harsh or blinding and I wanted to show that in the image as well as the receding shadows. Control of the light and the denseness of the shadows was the objective in this image.
