Towards the end of last month, Mrs M and I took ourselves off to Yorkshire for a few days. It really is a gorgeous county and certainly one of our favourite places to visit. On the way to our hotel, we called into Harewood House.
The gardens are lovely with a walk around the large lake where you can see the amazing collection of flowers and trees. Whilst we were there we could see endless spirals of Red Kites riding the thermals higher and higher and then down again
We went into the house to see the fabulous art collections and then took refreshments in the gardens. The picture of the Orpheus and leopard statue below by Astrid Zydower was taken whilst sitting on the garden terrace having coffee. The day was hot and I could have easily sat there all afternoon.

Harewood House is on the A61 midway between Leeds and Harrogate and has extensive grounds and a bird garden.
