This is a beautiful old tree at Upton House in Warwickshire. The sun was out and it really was a lovely afternoon. Sitting in one of the little wall seats the warmth from the sun could be felt. The weathermen now say that spring starts on 1 March (a little bit too neat I think) but it did really feel like it today.
The tree itself is very old with a skin that looks as though it has taken everything the British weather could throw at it with a ‘couldn’t care less’ shrug. The sun was catching all these wonderful nooks and crannies in the bark and it had this lovely pink glow on certain areas. I accentuated the texture by pushing the image through NIK HDR Efex and then proceeded with my usual workflow.
