
I took a few different images of repeated motifs throughout the day today,and then when I got home, I noticed the way that the light was falling on the stairs from the landing. I set the camera up on a tripod and took several pictures.
I then processed as usual in Lightroom and Photoshop and decided that a complete tint would ensure that it was the repeat of the steps that would be the focus. To remove the feeling of the image being resolved by upward movement – as a staircase would – I turned the image on its side so that the viewer would be drawn in by the repeated lines.

this is great – if totally weird to get your head around what it is. It has a really great ambiance and an almost ‘graphic’ feel.
