This image was taken with an Olympus E-620 on a freezing cold Skegness beach in January. The composition immediately fell together because of the horizontal lines separating the snow, sand and sea sitting virtually on the thirds of the picture. I took several images without the two people in the picture but as they walked towards each other on the beach and then finally stopped to talk I composed them on a thirds intersection and the composition was complete. There never really was an option to convert to monochrome because of the colours of the three layers and of course the marvellous red coat.
